Administrators of a wiki-space can restrict access to individual pages in addition to the global permissions set for a wiki-space. Similar to public pages, access restricted pages can be linked in the text. Unauthorized wiki users cannot view the page content, but can request access from the responsible administrator.

In order for individual persons / groups of persons to be able to act in a wiki-space (e.g. edit pages etc.), they must first be given "global" access rights! The subsequently set page restrictions dominate the global permissions.

Grant access

  1. If access to a restricted page is requested by an unauthorized wiki user, you as administrator will receive an email with the request. Click on "Grant access".
  2. This will take you to the page in Confluence that the wiki user wants to access. In the "Access Request" notification window you can now grant or deny the request.
  3. If you have allowed access to the page, the wiki user will receive a confirmation email and can access the page from now on, provided the wiki user is already globally authorized in your wiki-space!
