Authorize groups of persons globally

As administrator of a wiki space, you can assign permissions to different user categories as described below.

In order for persons/groups to be able to act in a wiki space (e.g. edit pages, etc.), they must first be authorized globally!

Step 1: Click on "Space tools" at the bottom left and select "Permissions" from the menu.

Step 2: Here you can now assign permissions for subsequent user categories:

User categories
Groups (1)Grant all members of a group from TUMonline permissions for a wiki-space.
Individual Users (2)Grant permissions to individual users regardless of their group membership. 
Anonymous Access (3)Grant unregistered persons access to public pages in your wiki space.

Authorize groups (1)

  1. Under "Groups" click "Edit Permissions".
  2. Enter your TUM password and click on "Confirm".
  3. Enter the CN name of the group you are looking for in the input field and click on the glass symbol.
  4. The group you are looking for now appears below the input field. Select the desired result with your mouse and click on "Add".
  5. To set the desired permissions by activating the respective checkbox(es) continue with step 3 below.

Authorize individual users (2)

  1. Under "Individual Users" click "Edit Permissions".
  2. Enter your TUM password and click on "Confirm".
  3. Enter the TUM-ID of a person you are looking for in the input field and click on the glass symbol.
  4. The person you are looking for now appears below the input field. Select the desired result with your mouse and click on "Add".
  5. To set the desired permissions by activating the respective checkbox(es) continue with step 3 below.

Authorize anonymous users (3)

  1. Under "Anonymous Access" click "Edit Permissions".
  2. Enter your TUM password and click on "Confirm".
  3. Continue with step 3 below. 

In the "Anonymous Access" section you can set your wiki space "public" and grant unregistered persons access/view to your wiki content! 

Step 3: If the user category is selected in step 2, you can assign subsequent authorizations to it if required:

Please note that the permissions in the "Anonymous Access" section should always be set with caution, since depending on the permissions assigned, unauthenticated, external persons can post and manage content, comments etc. here!

Step 4: Once the user category from step 2 has been selected and the desired permissions from step 3 have been set, click "Save all".
