Restrict pages to individual persons / groups of persons

As administrator of a wiki-space, you can assign permissions (permission levels) for individual pages in addition to the global permissions set for a wiki-space.

In order for individual persons / groups of persons to be able to act in a wiki-space (e.g. edit pages etc.), they must first be given "global" access rights! The subsequently set page restrictions dominate the global permissions.

Step 1: Call up the page for which you want to assign additional permissions.
Step 2: Click on the "..." option and select "Restrictions" from the menu.
Step 3: Choose one of the permission levels from the following table:

Editing restricted

Depending on the global permissions set before in the wiki-space, groups of persons (1), individual persons (2), anonymous persons (3) can view the page, but only selected groups of persons (1) or individual users (2) can edit the page

Viewing and editing restrictedOnly selected, already globally authorized groups of persons (1) or individual, already globally authorized users (2) can view and edit the page

Permission level "No restrictions"

The permission level "No restrictions" is set as default for all pages. If this permission level is selected, depending on the globally set permissions for groups of persons (1), individual users (2) or anonymous persons (3) in the wiki-space, groups of persons (1), individual users (2) or anonymous persons (3) can view and edit the page.

Permission level "Editing restricted"

Depending on the globally set permissions for groups (1), individual users (2) or anonymous persons (3) in the wiki-space, groups (1), individual users (2), anonymous persons (3) can view the page, but only selected, already globally authorized groups (1) or individual, already globally authorized users (2) can edit the page.

  1. Click on the drop-down menu and select the "Editing restricted" option.
  2. Enter the CN name in the input field for groups or TUM ID for individuals. The result is listed below the input field.
  3. Click on the desired result and click on "Add".
  4. Click on "Apply".

Permission level "Viewing and editing restricted"

Only selected, already globally authorized groups (1) or individual, already globally authorized users (2) can view and edit the page.

  1. Click on the drop-down menu and select the "Viewing and editing restricted" option.
  2. Enter the CN name in the input field for groups or TUM ID for individuals. The result is listed below the input field.
  3. Click on the desired result and click on "Add".
  4. Click on "Apply".
