Abstract

Sock Snatcher is a "Hide and Seek" game for two players, in which the goal is to guard socks that are scattered around the room, or to steal them unnoticed.

Project Description

One player takes the role of a child who is awakened at night by a rustling sound and tries to find the source of the noise (a small monster controlled by the other player). The child is stationary in the middle of the room and must watch out for the socks scattered around him in the first-person perspective. The monster must move around the room and steal the socks without being seen by the other. To do this, the monster player sees the room in bird's-eye view, in which there is an additional visual indication of where his opponent is looking. It is thus an asymmetrical multiplayer game, in which the two players pursue different goals and have different options to do so. In terms of genre, the game can best be classified as a stealth/party game hybrid.
