The suggested topic of this course was the integration of open geospatial data into common game engines. The course was kindly supported by Tobias Steber at EOXPLORE, Gunter Zeug and Kirill Volter at Terranea. 10 students took part in this seminar. Two student groups developed stunning serious games using open geospatial data.
For all of our students and the two companies, the collaboration and engagement with the respective other field was very fruitful, highly interesting and motivating. A total of three game prototypes were created, of which two serious games dealt with the topic of geodata integration (Grimma Floodfighters, Nykus Exploration). Special poster presentations were created for the two serious games, which were officially presented at this year's National Forum for Remote Sensing and Copernicus 2022 from June 21-23 in Berlin. Both posters have since been published on mediaTUM.
The whole course was conducted in a hybrid format, using face-to-face seminars, distance learning and blended learning tools.
