Abstract

Chatbots are increasingly becoming a central part of modern and user-centered software applications. With the recent advancements in AI and LLMs, a growing percentage of those user interactions are handled by artificially intelligent systems. This thesis explores the architecture behind LLMs, the wide variety of different large language models, and their use cases in different fields of industry. Second, the entirety of the implementation process is covered, beginning with model selection and ending in the design of the backend and frontend architectures, implementation, and testing. Lastly, the limitations and potential drawbacks are discussed. Matters such as privacy and user data are analyzed within the context of AI chat systems. In short, this thesis seeks to offer a valuable resource for adopting responsible AI practices and offers detailed instructions on implementing a chatbot using cutting-edge language models (LLMs).
