Abstract

Nowadays there is an ever-increasing range of online options that either replace or complement traditional face-to-face teaching with online platforms. The global shift to online education has necessitated the development of tools that not only facilitate learning, but also encourage student interaction and engagement. A chat application with interactionenhancing features was developed against the background of the ability to determine student personality from data sets. Based on an extensive literature review, several features were implemented to promote interaction, engagement, collaboration and effective communication. Careful attention was paid to the design of the user interface to minimise latency, provide clear user feedback and ensure intuitive operation. This ensures that students can interact seamlessly with the platform without encountering technical barriers. In addition, the chat application provides the ability to access other features of the platform's forum within the chat, increasing its utility and integration into the wider educational ecosystem. The chat was developed using React.js for the front-end, Node.js for the back-end and Socket.io for real-time communication, ensuring a robust and scalable solution. In summary, this work demonstrates how well-designed chat applications can significantly enhance online education by encouraging student interaction and engagement while providing personality assessment tools. This holistic approach to online learning tools ensures that educational platforms meet the diverse needs of today's students, promoting both academic success and personal development.
