Abstract

Our society is continues to age, the increasing number of elderly people causes an excessive demand on the medical sector and families. The growing demand makes it more and more important to relieve medical personal and relatives of elderly people by making use of modern technology. This thesis analyzes what typical problems for elderly people there are and looks for possibilities to support elderly people with modern solutions like Augmented Reality. We develop an Augmented Reality navigation app that is especially designed for elderly people and tries to promote activity. We also take a look at the technical difficulties and how to solve them. In the end we propose a survey and provide a framework to evaluate the effectiveness and give an outlook on what further improvements or possibilities there are.
