Civil servants in Bavaria receive family allowance from the Landesamt für Finanzen.
Please note that for family-related benefits, there must be a basic entitlement to child benefits and an application must be submitted to the family benefits office in Bayreuth. If you get a rejection note for child benefit it should say that your child/children are counted as eligible for family allowance!
Level 1: 145,56 EUR per month
For married civil servants or civil partners living in a registered partnership
Level 2: 270,02 EUR per month
For married civil servants or civil servants in a registered partnership with child(ren)
Level 3: 270,02 EUR - 145,56 EUR = 124,46 EUR per month
Non-married civil servants with children or civil-servants that are not living together with his/her child(ren) in an household but are sharing the custody with the other parent; can also receive family-related benefits, namely the difference between levels 1 and 2.
Steps - How to apply for family allowance
- After you have applied for child benefit at the Landesfamilienkasse Bayreuth you can apply for family allowance in written form
- For level 1, please fill in the form E-Erklärung
- For level 2, please fill in the form FL-Erklärung (for English translation please see the document Declaration for family-related benefits)
