Child benefit in cross-boarder cases
If you or the other parent is holding an EU/EW or Switz Nationility or is still living in one of those countries, you can receive child benefit in a cross-boarder case. In such cases, it is examined whether a reduction or a differential amount is to be paid.
Please see the information sheet in German Merkblatt Kindergeld in grenzüberschreitenden Fällen or English leaflet child-benefit in cross-boarder cases
- Fill in the form Antrag auf Kindergeld and the annex Anlage Kind
- Fill in the form Anlage Ausland

However, in cross-border cases where supranational legislation is applicable to the to the applicant or to another parent, there are Family Benefits Offices with special
responsibilities.
→ You can find the relevant Family Benefit Office in the leaflet child-benefit in cross-boarder cases.
