In some cases, yes – for example, if your ULT freezer was already set to –70°C before the Challenge, or in the case of maintenance work, depending on how frequently it is carried out. For laboratory teams that are already committed to climate-conscious freezer management beyond our Challenge checklist, this will be taken into account particularly at the Gold Level – in recognition of additional commitment that goes beyond our requirements.
However, the following applies to many measures in the checklist: only measures that were implemented or reviewed during the Challenge period (29 April – 30 October 2026) should be recorded. This rule ensures that those laboratory teams are taken into account that have actually implemented new improvements during this period.
