Abstract

This paper is about the interdisciplinarity of social studies i.e. mythology and technology i.e. video games. It shows that those two fields already intersect in video games and how it can be used to create a serious game that aims to educate about mythology. For this I analyze the ways of how they were combined in already existing video games, and derive rules following this analysis to help in creating a serious game. The game that is drafted in this paper is about the Greek mythology, especially Cerberus. The drafted game was kept close to different myths, combining some and making artistic changes to keep it interesting, while still having the intention to educate.
