Project Description

Skeletoons is a low poly style 3D Hide'n'Seek Game. The player takes in the role of a skeleton that suddenly comes to live. As it is scared of the other residents of the castle it tries to escape without being seen by any frightening creature. If they discover it on its way to the outside it will freeze in shock. Fortunately the skeleton can throw it's bones to distract enemies and sneek past them. Solve puzzles, find items to open doors, hide from the scary residents and make it out. The game consists of four levels: the castle's cellar - the starting point, the castle, the roof and the garden - the final level. The player starts in the cellar and consecutively plays through the levels until they reach the outside and the end of the game.

Development

The game Skeletoons has been developed in the course "Level Engineering: Methoden und Werkzeuge für die Erstellung von Spielumgebungen und Level Design". The concept of the game has first been designed through a moodboard. Afterwards the neccessary game mechanics have been implemented and the designing process of each level applying the learned techniques and level design patterns has started. Each level has first been designed as a diagram, later sketched out, then built as block out and iterated over before coming together to build the final game.

The sound has been designed by Arezou and Lukas from the "Hochschule für Musik und Theater München".
