About the Project
Boxford out of Shape is a story-driven game with puzzle elements set in a school of Boxford, where squares, triangles and circles study together with all shapes having different interests, talents and aspirations. You play as Klaus Kreis - a circle student, with a strong affinity towards computers. Alongside your friends, you get to learn the school, take part in making it better by solving puzzles and completing quests and just have fun. There's 3 floors and an outside area to explore with lots of characters to talk to, puzzles to solve, and secrets to uncover.
Development Process
This game was developed as a final project for the Level Engineering course. We started from a story and world concept conceived as a part of Story Worlds course assignment. Having figured out the setting of the game, we ideated on the kind of game we wanted it to be, moodboarded and prototyped the school layout utilizing custom Unity tools, programmed all required functionality and finally added some visual flourishes.
