Abstract

Gamification has taken a very important roles in recent development in the medical field, with the goal of augmenting traditional procedures with game features to increase the user’s concentration and motivation, especially during tedious and repetitive exercises. This paper presents the various gamification feature that have been implemented into an already existing Augmented reality (AR) framework. The Original system required an end user (A patient) to pick up utensils and place them on a table at locations specified by 3D model visible through a HEAD-mounted AR display. The features presented by this paper have the goal of improving the patient’s rehabilitation experience by gamifying the rehabilitation tasks. This is done by implementing an intuitive 3D user interface, multiple game features, and finally utilizing these features and the environment to implement full-fledged minigames.
