Abstract

This thesis gives insight into the development of a web-based remote assistance tool for virtual reality training applications using the open source packages of WebRTC and the Innoactive Creator for the Unity game engine. The web application is able to receive camera, audio, and voice streams from Unity applications and provides input controls which are directly sent back to the application. Furthermore, several tools like minimaps, heat maps, moving cameras, and state diagrams are made available. Finally, the evaluation metrics for virtual reality training applications and benefits of the tools are presented.
