The laboratory consists of 3 gas engine CHPs and 1 sterling engine CHP.
The gas engine CHPs consit of the following elements:
- combustion engine
- generator
- exhaust gas heat exchanger
- engine cooling heat exchanger
The power of the combustion engine can be modulated (e.g. between 55 and 100 % for the NeoTower CHPs), however the ratio between electric power and heat power is fixed and cannot be changed.
