Abstract
“The Facility” is a first person horror game developed as part of the Master Practical Course: “Level Design”, under the guiding topic of ‘take cover’. Inspired by this theme, the player is thrown into a dark and gloomy futuristic environment where quick thinking and survival instincts are required to successfully make it to the end. The game features four distinct levels, each with its own unique premise, aesthetics and enemies. As part of his job, the player character is sent into the remains of a secret research facility, located deep in space. The facility, once a clean and bright high-tech laboratory, now lies in disrepair, its many floors overrun by monsters. The player has to beat three of these floors, by performing a specific task or retrieving important key items each and finally flee the facility via an escape pod.
