Abstract

This thesis presents a possible self-developed solution for the polypharmacy dilemma in the life of older people. It mainly consists of two Apps: The first one offers the patients the option of scanning their pills alone using the PillDetection App, a realtime machine learning based solution, from their phones in order to identify the correct pill to take. In case of wrong or not high confident results, the patient has also the opportunity of contacting their caregiver using the PillClinic App, which offers peer to peer AR Video and Audio communication between both parties.
