Steps - How to apply for separation allowance

The Landesamt für Finanzen (State Office of Finance) is responsible for the reimbursement of separation allowances.

1. Complete the application form Antrag auf Bewilligung von Trennungsgeld

2. Complete one of the following forms

   • Trennungsgeldabrechnung bei Verbleib am neuen Dienstort - if you stay at your new place of employment
   • Trennungsgeldabrechnung bei täglicher Rückkehr - if you return daily
3. Prepare and copy the required evidence of 
   1. obstacle reason for relocation, e.g. school children
   2. tenancy agreements
   3. confirmation of reimbursement of relocation costs
4. Send application to

As soon as you have received the approval for separation allowance, you need to submit monthly either the form

• Trennungsgeldabrechnung bei Verbleib am neuen Dienstort - if you stay at your new place of employment
• Trennungsgeldabrechnung bei täglicher Rückkehr - if you return daily
