Abstract

For some years now, augmented and virtual reality applications have become more and more popular. A crucial part of this technology is interaction. For a natural type of user interaction, this thesis aims to present a device that can track the human arm’s orientation. A cheap prototype based on an Android smartphone and an Arduino microcontroller with a corresponding interface-framework was developed. This device can be used to control games that are used as a showcase in this thesis. Due to its software architecture, the gadget can be used in other applications as well.
