Steps - How to apply for the reimbursement of relocation costs and rent compensation

  1. Enquire two estimates of costs from moving companies before starting the relocation.
  2. Fill in the form Antrag auf Gewährung von Umzugskostenvergütung after your relocation. Please see the English translation for help.
  3. For the reimbursement of rent please fill in the form Anlage zum Antrag auf Umzugskostenvergütung Please see the English translation for help.
  4. Prepare the scans of your flight/ train tickets or calculate the kilometres travelled by car
  5. Make sure to keep your Relocation Allowance/Anlage zur Umzugskostenzusage and add it to the application. Professors receive this document on the day of their appointment. 
  6. Send all documents to
