There are a few important steps you need to take so that we can pay you scholarships. As it may take several weeks, please make sure you have money for the beginning of your stay in Germany

  1.  Register your place of residence

As part of your stay in Germany, it is mandatory to register your address with the local authorities (usually at the Bürgeramt or Einwohnermeldeamt). You should do this as soon as possible after arriving.

       2. Open a German bank account
You will need to open a German bank account to receive your scholarship payments. Once you have done this, please fill out the attached form, titled "SEED Reimbursement - 02 Form person - Name", with your bank account details.

       3. Tax ID (Steuer-ID)
Your German tax ID will automatically be issued to you once you register your residence. This will usually arrive by post within 1-2 weeks. Once you have received your tax ID, please complete the form "Erklärung_zum_Steuergeheimnis_Datenschutz_Deutsch und English" using this information:

Please note that without these details, we will not be able to proceed with the scholarship disbursement. If you haven’t received your tax ID by post within a reasonable timeframe, we advise you to contact the local tax office (Finanzamt) to inquire about it.

Once you have completed all forms, kindly send them to me at your earliest convenience.
