12. Mai 2022I feel like this idea relies heavily on nice VFX for the doppler effect, it could be pretty difficult to properly implement it. Also it would be interesting to see a simplified game mode with less flashing for people intolerant to it. I'm really excited to see the result in the future!

12. Mai 2022I like this unique idea of using sound reflection and the "temple run gameplay".
Something that could be fun is, maybe a gamemode that is purely based on sound and not visuals.

13. Mai 2022visualizing sound waves is a fascinating idea
It's dissappointing that it's visualizing and not actually using echo location as a mechanic. altough that would be pretty hard to get used to
i'm not sure how fitting it would be since you are conceptually already visualizing this data, but I think adding sound effects can really heighten this idea.

13. Mai 2022I really really like your main gameplay idea with kinda seeing only sound reflections and also the visualization of this technique was very appealing for me 10/10 want to see more. It seems like there are not that many games that use such an innovative approach.
I could not really say what my least favorite part would be, it seems like you already collected great parts of your inspirational games. However, probably having to flight constantly might be a little stressful for me if I have to keep track of the pray and a predator as well.
One idea that came to mind to give the player a little rest, would be the integration of some mechanic to distract the owl (like stunning it) just for a moment.

13. Mai 2022Your demo at the presentation really captured my attention and I am looking forward to seeing how your unique game idea is realized.
I really appreciate that you are not going for a horror vibe because I am not a fan of pitch-black scenes where something is lurking by and in general having a limited vision is cumbersome for me. Also as Janosh mentioned, I believe slow-paced gameplay would be more beneficial for your idea.
I would suggest starting the game with a free roam level where the player could get used to the dark environment and use the echoloc before diving into the real stuff.

13. Mai 2022I really love the originality of your idea; you were literally the only group that had a different perspective on the reflection theme!
Personally, regarding the mechanics i think it would be helpful when you have a mini map that shows obstacles in the vision field after your "ultrasound wave" hit it, it shows the whole object not only the part that was hit and that it duplicates the whole scene, and just leave it there (same logic as area unlocked) you won't see it as you will always move forward but i think it adds a nice touch!

13. Mai 2022I really liked the idea of the game and how you used the "reflection" theme in a unique different way. I am looking forward to seeing the outcome of the game.
The one thing missing which I did not get is what can the player do when the owl attacks him? Does the owl stop chasing him after a while or can the bat attack it in a way? Also it would be hard to evade the owl if I can not see it as a player and it is coming from behind me. A suggestion I can give is a mini map that can show an owl chasing you and the predator appears in it from the sound it does or something like that.
Other than that I am really looking forward to fly the bat around.

13. Mai 2022What is your favorite aspect of the proposed game? Why?
What is your least favorite aspect? Why?
Which single change/addition would you suggest to most improve the game?

13. Mai 2022I REALLY LIKED YOUR DEMO. I also liked that you captured the reflection theme in a very unique way. I think your game will turn out to be a very interesting and fun game to play.
I think it is good that you clarified in the demo that the player just moves forward so make sure that this happens because other than that the game would be very challenging and I guess the player would always lose then.
I'd recommend starting the game with an easy level for the player to get acquaint with the dark environment and use the echos before moving on to the next levels.

13. Mai 2022I like your game idea and the theme of using sound wave reflections. Looking forward to seeing the finished game!
I'm not sure if the "flying forward" aspect fits here, because it turns into a Temple Run, but you see less and some "coins" try to dodge you. Maybe I misunderstood something.
You could try to implement a "free flight" mode where you can fly in any direction. The flight can be simulated as an airplane, so that the controls are not too complicated. Also you could add a hard mode where the sound plays a more important role, than the visuals of the scan so that it also fits your theme better.

13. Mai 2022I'm truly excited about the visuals, which looked really good in your demo, but missed the focus on sound effects. I also love the creative behaviours of the preys. You could add rain, fog or something shiny to the environment.
