FAQs - ED portal

In the top left corner of the portal you see your function and your organization. If you belong to more than one organization, you can change between them by clicking change.

Your organization in the ED portal is automatically according to your TUMonline account. During the transfer from Faculties to Schools some affiliations were transferred faulty. In case you are affiliated to a "Former Department of ..." or something alike, please contact support-koinon.ed@ed.tum.de. Let us know which chair you belong to and we will correct your account data.

In the top left corner, you see your function in the ED portal. This can be student, Employee, Administration or Administrator. If yo uare listed as a student, but are actually an employee, please contact support-koinon.ed@ed.tum.de. We can create an employee account for you. Your affiliation is automatically listed according to TUMonline, which can be faulty especially for PhD student and former students of TUM. 

In the lefthand menu, navigate to the section Thesis and therein again to Thesis. Here you have alist of all theses that have been registered at your chair and you can register new theses.

Please contact support-koinon.ed@ed.tum.de stating your chair and School and the degree program that you are an eligible examiner for.

Please first check whether the student is actually enrolled in a degree program at the School of Engineering and Design. Stuent sof other Schools have to be registered in the portal of their School. Each School has its own portal.

If this is not the case, please contact support-koinon.ed@ed.tum.de.

The title given at the time of registration is only a preliminary title. The final title will only be entered when the supervising chair assesses the thesis. If the topic changes during the course of the thesis, it is not necessary to inform the examination management of the change of title. Simply enter the new title at the end during the assessment. The title of the submitted thesis and the final title in TUMonline have to match.

The entire administration of theses is relocated to the ED portal. Theses are registered and assessed here. Only when the assessment has been confirmed by the examiner will all data be transferred to TUMonline.
