On February 19, 2025, the Professorship for Exercise, Nutrition and Health will host a scientific symposium focusing on the effects of weight loss on skeletal muscle.

The spotlight will be on GLP-1 receptor agonists (e.g., Wegovy, Ozempic), which have revolutionized obesity treatment but can also lead to the loss of lean mass, particularly muscle. Experts from the Technical University of Munich, the Helmholtz Center Munich and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich will present the latest research findings and discuss new solutions.

The symposium will be held in Lecture Hall 01 (BayWa Hörsaal) at the TUM Campus im Olympiapark.
