the LRZ (www.lrz.de) has about 1300 access points in Munichs universities. The unencrypted network with the SSID lrz can be used together with a vpn client software (http://www.lrz.de/services/netz/mobil/vpn/index.html) and your credentials max.mustermann@mytum.de and your password to connect to the internet. AnyConnectClient is a preferable piece of software in that context.
At the EXC eight access points are available. If you are interested to use your mytum credentials in other European universities that support the eduroam initiative please have a look at http://www.lrz.de/services/netz/mobil/eduroam/ .
