All houses of the laboratory have 1 or more thermal storages with different characteristics. The thermal storages are the connection point between the heat generators, district heating grid connection and heat consumption. Different connection options can be tested in the laboratory.
Due to hygenic requirements, domestic hot water has to be separated from the heating circuit. 3 different option to separate them are implemented in the laboratory:
a) fresh water station with an external heat exchanger (used in SF2, SF3 and MF5)
b) combi storage with an internal heat exchanger (used in SF4)
c) additional domestic hot water storage (used in SF1)
