IO Libraries and Tools for HPC Systems

LRZ provides libraries for parallel I/O and serial I/O for the scientific data manipulation on the platforms SuperMUC and Linux Cluster. MPI-IO, ADIOS, CGNS, SIONlib, HDF5, NetCDF parallel and PnetCDF provide primitives for the parallel I/O and optimization techniques to obtain good performance in parallel filesystems. Darshan tool is enabled in SuperMUC and Linux Clusters for Parallel I/O analysis. Darshan is an I/O characterization tool that provides a profile of the parallel applications' I/O.
