The Welcome Services Team of the TUM Global & Alumni Office invites international researchers from Bavarian universities to join our information event on the German health insurance system. With this comprehensive introduction, we want to help you better understand the German social security system in general and the difference between private and public health insurance in particular.

Among other things, health insurance experts Matthias Kurzawski and Lea Schwarz from TECHNIKER KRANKENKASSE will be explaining

  • the conditions under which international researchers and their families need/ can choose a compulsory health insurance,

  • the conditions under which international researchers and their families need/ can choose a private health insurance scheme and  

  • the main pillars of the German social security system.

The talk is in English and there will be a short Q&A session in the end.

Deletion of data

The data will be deleted 12 months after the event.

You have the right not to consent to this declaration - however, since the fields marked as mandatory are required for the event registration, we cannot provide a place without consent.

Your rights:

  • a right of disclosure
  • a right to rectification or deletion or to limitation of processing or a right to object to processing
  • a right to data transferability
  • in addition, you have to right to lodge a complaint with the Bavarian State Commissioner for Data Protection.

Consequences of a revocation of consent:

Your data may not be further processed after receipt of the declaration of revocation and will be deleted immediately. The revocation of your consent does not affect the legality of the processing carried out up to that point. Please address the revocation to the following address.
