1. Notice - please read carefully before filling out the application:

1. Please do not contact the lecturer before we have given you feedback! Our coordinated request to our lecturers will work in your favor (as opposed to individual students’ requests).
2. Do not forget to register for the regular exam in TUMonline, regardless! If there is no TUMonline registration, no exam – alternate or regular - will be possible!
3. Do not withdraw from university before the date of the regular exam, in case your alternate exam will be scheduled earlier! Otherwise, the grade won't appear on your transcript!
4. Resits at the end of the lecture free time in September/October are excluded, we cannot offer alternate exams for the second examination period.
5. We presuppose that you have taken into account the different semester dates at TUM before your arrival. Therefore we kindly advise you to consider attending the regular exams at the end of our semesters from the very beginning if you rely on guaranteed transfer of credits.
   
6. An alternate exam can be an oral or remote exam and is always an exception. Remote exams are more likely to happen. The decision upon your application is made by the respective lecturer and depends on the schedule and content of the individual course.
   
7. Courses and exams from other departments are not covered by this application. Only TUM Informatics modules can be applied for. Do not make plans for your return until you have obtained the official confirmation for an alternate exam.
8. We expect you to attend the respective course regularly and until the end of the lecture period !
   
9. We cannot guarantee an alternate exam.
10. If you leave earlier than the lecture period, your request will be most likely refused as you will have missed content you can not be examined about. We ask you to postpone your return to your home university until the second or third examination week and minimise the requests for alternate exams during this time.
11. Once you have submitted the application, you have to commit to the allotted alternate exam!
12. In case your plans change, you commit to tell us (student-exchange@in.tum.de) asap, if you withdraw your request for an alternate exam.

2. Prerequisite:

Together with this carefully filled application form you need to provide us with an official (signed and stamped) confirmation of your home university about the exact dates of its lecture period showing the interleaving with the examination period at IN.TUM.
This document must clearly state that you are expected at your home university at the time of the TUM exam. You can add an explanation and highlight the important paragraphs. Consider that the longer you stay the more likely it is to get an alternate oral exam. It's up to you to make a sound decision how long you should stay in Munich with regard to the distribution of your exams in the examination period or preferably write the regular exam (even though you might miss the first or second week of courses at home).

3. How to apply for an alternate exam

For every alternate exam you must fill in this form anew! (e.g. if you want to apply for two alternate exams, then you need to fill in all data twice!) 
Please fill in your information carefully everytime. You can't change the data after your submission!

4. Deadline and Timeframe:

This online application must be submitted not later than:

• Sunday, June 16, 2024, 23:59 (CET) for alternate exams at the end of the lecture period in July.

After that date, you will receive feedback as soon as possible, though an answer can take until early/mid July.
