Applicants of the Master's program in Finance and Information Management can also apply for the FIM Scholarship or the FIM Scholarship Plus.
The FIM Scholarship consists of a financial contribution to living expenses in the amount of 500 euros per month.
The FIM Scholarship Plus on the other hand consists of a financial contribution to living expenses in the amount of 1200 euros per month.
Applicants for whom funding a Master’s degree would impose a disproportionate financial burden can apply for the FIM scholarship Plus which is intended to provide broader cost of living support.

Please note: If you apply for the FIM Scholarship PLUS, you automatically apply for the FIM Scholarship as well.
The following criteria are decisive for both scholarship programs, the FIM Scholarship as well as the FIM Scholarship PLUS:
- Excellence
Outstanding performance and talent in academic achievements are crucial, in particular, regarding the final grade of the previous course of study. In addition, proof of special successes, awards and prizes, previous professional activity and internships will be considered.
- Social Impact
Extracurricular activities such as volunteering, social, university involvement, or participation in associations or clubs can also be submitted.
- Social circumstances & Diversity
Furthermore, personal or family circumstances will also be taken into account. Such special circumstances include:
- illnesses and disabilities,
- caring for one's own children, especially as a single parent, or close relatives in need of care,
- working in the family business or
- family background can be brought in.
Female applicants for scholarships may be given priority in the case of comparable qualifications according to the criteria above in order to promote women in the FIM program.
In addition, international applicants with comparable qualifications may be given priority over German nationals, in order to promote diversity within the program.
In addition, the following criterion is essential for the FIM Scholarship PLUS:
- Special financial need
Applicants must proof that they have disproportionate financial burden and they cannot fund a master's degree without support.
Therefore, the form queries the relevant information.
When filling out the form, please note that the information cannot be saved temporarily. Therefore, it may be advisable to write your answers beforehand, for example in a Word document. Please make sure to include your last name in the title of the PDF-file, example:
"Doe__ Employment contract _companyname"

Online Application Scholarship FIM
I agree that my data will be collected, processed and used by the TUM Management Alumni e.V. and TUM Fördergesellschaft Controlling e.V. for the selection and awarding of the FIM scholarship as well as passed on or transmitted to the members of the selection committee, where it will also be processed and used for the aforementioned purposes. My data will be kept for 10 years.
I have been informed that the collection of my personal data, obtained within the scope of the above-mentioned purposes, will be processed, used and transmitted in compliance with the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG).
I have also been informed that the collection, processing and use of my data is on a voluntary basis. Furthermore, I can revoke my consent at any time without any adverse consequences for me.
