Dear Partner Institutions,

We are pleased to invite your students to participate in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Lighting and Information Technologies for Vision and Perception Quality and Wellbeing”, organized by the University of Florence and coordinated by Prof. Carla Balocco.

This innovative BIP offers students the opportunity to explore how lighting and information technologies can be applied to design dynamic, sustainable environments that enhance visual comfort, perception quality, and well-being, while promoting environmental awareness and strategic responses to climate change.
Through a combination of online and in-person learning, participants will engage in hands-on design activities and multidisciplinary discussions focused on human-centric lighting and energy-efficient environmental control in contemporary spaces.

Programme schedule
-Virtual part: 12 January – 9 March 2026
-In-person part (Florence): 16 – 20 February 2026

Target group
-Open to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students, with at least a B2 level of English.

Partner universities are kindly invited to indicate the number of students they may finance and complete the selection process by the end of October 2025.

Join us for an engaging networking event designed for international Master's students in the engineering field! The event is part of the Engineers for Germany initiative at TUM.

The Career Lounge will feature a panel of international TUM alumni who have successfully entered the German job market, sharing their firsthand experiences and success stories in the dynamic AI industry. They will be joined by TUM alumni with hiring expertise, offering insights into the challenges and opportunities for international professionals in Germany’s engineering job market.

Dear Colleagues,

As discussed in the last DWIH New Delhi Board meeting, herewith sending you the call for application, draft agenda and promotional email for our Innovators Connect Tandem 2025 programme. It is a two week entrepreneurship programme for young researchers interested in start-up founding and early-stage start-up founders from India and Germany. Participants will work in teams to generate innovative ideas, undergo training for bringing research ideas to market and get exposure to start-up and innovation ecosystems of India and Germany. This is DWIH New Delhi’s flagship programme organised together with a group of 10 select incubators from India and Germany.

Some of our supporter institutions (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, University of Stuttgart, University of Rostock, Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Heidelberg University, University of Cologne and Technische Universität Braunschweig) are also a part of the programme.

The call has been sent widely across Germany to innovation/ transfer/ start-up centres at universities and research institutions. Nevertheless, we would be happy if you could circulate it amongst your colleagues in Germany for promotions in case they haven’t received it already. (If applicable to your institutions).

From Germany, here is the target group of the programme:

PhD (ongoing or completed) / Postdocs (PhD not older than four years) with a lab to market idea and currently affiliated with a university, university of applied sciences or a research institution in Germany
OR
Early-stage start-up team members/ early-stage start-up founders (<2 years of incorporation) with minimum bachelor’s degree and preferably a master’s degree affiliated with a university, university of applied sciences or a research institution in Germany.

The programme aims to provide participants from India and Germany with knowledge about the research, innovation and start-up ecosystems of both countries and local markets. The central focus of the programme is collaboration for technology development. Participants will gain early international access during the ideation and product development phase to understand the needs of global markets and establish international contacts. The German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New Delhi will cover the costs, including international travel expenses and accommodation, for participants from Germany.

Application deadline is 13 July 2025.

Greetings from Brescia!
We are currently organizing a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) called Combined Structural and Energy upgrade of buildings in rural areas.

This Programme will investigate the historical stratification of a mountain village in the Province of Brescia, the construction and strengthening techniques, the types of materials and their origin, the state of conservation of the buildings and the most frequent structural systems used. 

This BIP is designed for undergraduate, master and PhD students of Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture who are interested in building rehabilitation from different points of view: historical, materials, structural or energy.

Language of instruction and requirements: English (minimum level B2)

Dates and Location for Physical Activity:

📌  University of Brescia (Sept 8-10) Department Civil, Environmental, Architectural Engineering and Mathematics (DICATAM), Via Branze 43, Brescia (Italy);
📌 Mountain village in the Province of Brescia (Sept 11 and 12)

Dates for virtual component:
N.B.: The time reference should be intended as Central European Summer Time (C.E.S.T., UTC +2)
