In a world characterised by global challenges but also by technological innovations, holistic skills are required that go beyond technical expertise and enable you to apply your engineering skills in a comprehensive social context and to act in a socially responsible manner. Contextual competences are intended to promote awareness of the interaction of technical interventions with society, ecology and the economy and enable you to orientate yourself in a variety of engineering contexts.

As part of the contextual studies programme, you have the opportunity to attend courses and modules from other schools, departments or chairs in order to supplement the specialist studies of engineering degree programmes with interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary educational content.

As a coordination office, we see contextual studies as a process-based and reflective programme.
