A prior publication list (in German Vorveröffentlichungsliste (VVL)) contains all publications with topics relevant to the dissertation that have already been published. According to the doctoral regulations, they must be listed. Upload the VVL in DocGS! (Note: The professors pay attention to this VVL in circulation).
If no previous publications relevant to the dissertation have been made, please confirm this informally by uploading a PDF to DocGS when submitting the dissertation.
What should be noted in detail?
- List the publications in the same way as in your bibliography for the dissertation! Also, indicate which publications have undergone a peer-review process and which have not.
- Patents that have already been granted can also be listed.
- Do NOT list student theses you have supervised in the prior publication list! You can list them as an extra section in your CV. However, you must cite the student research projects in the dissertation you have used or included in the dissertation as a source (see Good Scientific Practice). If a joint publication has resulted from a supervised student research project, this must also be listed in the prior publication list!
- Publications not relevant to the dissertation can be listed in the CV (e.g., under the list of publications).
- Planned publications must not be listed in the prior publication list!
