FROST Server tutorial

Hey there,
here is the tutorial on how to get your data to the FROST-Server I promised yesterday. Take a look and contact us if you need help.
FROST - Tutorial
I am out of office until next Tuesday and will not be able to reply to you until then.

Services online

Hey all,
I just setup the services for the course. You can find them here:

LoraWAN Package Listing

Incoming TTN and SWM packages are now listed here:https://gi3.gis.lrg.tum.de/nodered/ui/

FROST-Server

The FROST-Server is the IoT-Platform where all your sensor data from your nodes will be stored. We will show you next week how to brin gyour data there. For now, checkout the FROST Server page to query some data from out testing nodes.

Grafana

Grafana is the tool we are going to use for data visualization. Teh login below provides you with edit rights. Just try to create a dashboard of your own. No worries, there is nothing you can destroy here, just give it a try. You can learn more about that here: https://grafana.com/docs/features/panels/graph/
The time-series values stored in the FROST Server can be visualized by an Open Source Dashboard application Grafana. Grafana has a plug-in called LinkSmart-SensorThings-Datasource, which allows to query and visualize the sensor observations from arbitrary SensorThings API services.

Hey there,
the wiki pages for project documentations are ready. They are subpages to your project description. All of them are listed here: Organization#Studentgroups
Please everybody check if you can access and edit your page. You are only able to view/edit the page of your group.

Hey there,
you can find an example project documentation here: Example documentation - Home Weather Display
This is just for giving you an idea of how a project documentation should look like. The example is not perfect but fine as a general orientation of what we expect.
Depending on your project the documentation can look different. Be creative and contact us if you are not sure regarding the content/structure or else. We will give you feedback on the content you created.

LoRaWAN connection issues

Hey all,
some of you are facing LoRaWAN connection issues. Check this page for a strategy to resolve them:
Testing LoRaWAN connections

Hey there,

the SWM LoRaWAN is ready for testing now. Goto SWM LoRaWAN for further instructions.
If you manage to connect your device, please leave a comment including the rough LAT/LON location of your device at the time of the successful transmission here. If you have trouble, please contact us on Slack.

Hey there,
I reordered and updated some of the Intro Arduino IDE pages. If you have a Seeeduino LoraWAN with or without GPS please check this page, there is an important step to use the on-board Grove connectors, that can easily be missed in the official docs.
If you want to used an LCD display, make sure your LCD is compatible with your Microcontroller. LCD Display 16x2 (RGB) runs only on 5V, while LCD Display 16x2 (Black on Red) supports both 3.3V and 5V.

Dear all,

as some of you might be aware of, this summer term's lecture period has been extended until the 7th August 2020 due to the Corona pandemic.

Given this, we can announce a modification to the initial timetable: the final presentation for the project works are rescheduled to the 27th instead of the 20th of July.

We hope this additional change doesn't cause conflicts with your other study obligations.

Homework and groups

Hey there,

the description of the homework is ready. You can find it here

Furthermore, here is the link for the groups we formed: Organization#Studentgroups

Group projects - Survey

Hey all,

as announced during last week's lecture, we will need a ranking of your three most preferred group project topics.

Please fill in the provided online table (click here) by Thursday of this week (7th May), so that we can publish the project group formations at next Monday's lecture.
