Here we are building up a collection of answers to the most frequently asked questions by MIRMI members.

Double affiliation (being involved in > 1  IRI of TUM)

Can I be affiliated or member with MIRMI and another Integrative Research Institute of TUM?

From MIRMI side you are welcome to be involved in more than 1 IRI.

The precedent here is the MDSI, which is particularly close to MIRMI thematically among the IRIs and as a result there is some overlap in personnel. The both Board of Directors have discussed a "double affiliation" and agreed on a common line: we want to encourage an inclusive approach. In concrete terms, this means that everyone who is a member of MIRMI is also welcome to become involved in the MDSI, and of course vice versa.

How do I give my double affiliation with several IRIs of TUM

If you want to mention your double affiliation or acknowledgements in publications and presentations, please do so. The following hints can serve as a guideline of how to give your affiliation and acknowledgements.

  • General information on the affiliation:
list both institutes in the order of your choice
  • Projects, publications and initiatives supported by one of the two institutes (e.g. with seed funds, admin support):
    name the supporting IRI
  • Projects, publications and initiatives supported by both institutes (e.g. with seed funds, admin support):
indicate the support of both institutes equally
