Impulse radio ultrawideband ranging has recently received significant attention in industrial applications due to the high accuracy of localization and the simplicity of deployment and integration in an existing environment. This new technology and the use of established methods for processing brings up a variety of problems and challenges that need to be taken into account. This paper will give an insight on newly developed approaches used to overcome the challenges that arise with the use of ultrawideband localization.
