Within the whole course structure this module shall be an entry point into the whole course. The module shall outline to all audiences the basics around smart city solutions while showing them why it is not simple to achieve these. To do so there shall be three ways for learners to interact:
- Preparation phase (before the activity): It requires the preparation of online material to share with participants (e.g. webinars, videos, guidelines, articles and interviews with experts and leaders, short homework for participants, among others). These sessions provide the learners with the basic understanding of the content.
- Physical interaction: it includes group dynamics, exercises, team collaboration, debate, activities to capture tacit knowledge. At this stage, the learners should focus more on ‘apply’, ‘analyse’ and ‘create’ capacities rather than ‘understand’ and ‘describe’.
- Post-activity: it is about how to engage participants to additional CKIC activities and the creation of knowledge products that reflect the learning from participants.
